Most of the human body is made of water. Every cell in the body is filled with some kind of liquid that includes water. Water is necessary for every bodily function and process. The human body will die after five days without ingesting water. Water is the source of all life on this planet.
When the body starts to lose weight there is a lot of waste and toxins that must be removed from the body. Fat does not simply disappear into thin air; it is burned in the form of calories. This burning process produces waste which must be disposed of.
This waste and toxins find their way through the blood to the kidneys, liver and intestines from where they will be removed from the body through bodily functions. The kidneys need a constant supply of water to process this waste and send it to the bladder from where it is released as urine. So do the intestines through which larger wastes are processed and expelled.
When the body does not have enough water to keep all the tissues saturated it starts shutting down the least important processes. One of the first tissues to stop receiving water is the skin. When a person does not drink enough water his or her skin looks and feels like sand paper. It loses elasticity and will eventually end up full of wrinkles.
If there is not enough water yet, the body will start closing important organs like the kidneys and intestines. When the kidneys do not have enough water the toxins and body waste accumulate in them and in the liver to a point where the waste can contaminate clean blood flowing back into other organs producing infections and the like.
A sure sign of low water ingestion is constipation and hard stools. Water is used by the intestines to soften stool and facilitate bodily functions, the lack of it will result in constipation. Hard stool may even damage the intestine walls and then same thing happening in the kidneys can happen here again. The waste and toxins will accumulate in the intestines and may produce an infection or even worst consequences.
Water is also necessary when you are exercising. The body heats up and sweat is used to cool it off. Sweat is another means used by the body to get rid of toxins and waste and the absence of enough water will cause the metabolic process to slow down causing less calories to be burned. Water is used to clean and refresh the body while it burns calories, it is also necessary to replenish the skin tissue that is shrinking because of the same weight loss.
A person must drink at least eight glasses of water per day. If this person is on a diet or exercising regularly the count should go up to ten to be sure enough water is provided. Drinking water improves the skin’s texture and helps it replenish itself. It is necessary for everybody process and also to create new blood cells. Drinking water is a good habit everybody must have and keep. It is also the safest and best liquid you can drink to keep your body healthy.
